A Color Case Study: Aymara Weaving

The term “Color Field” refers to an expressionistic painting movement that was characterized by the use of large fields of flat, solid color which created an unbroken surface and a flat picture plane, often extending from one side of the canvas to the other. Areas of solid colors were juxtaposed to both create composition and create a mood.
